TENS for Pain
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:10:43 AM »
Hi guys,

Haven't been using my TENS machine for quite a while now - in fact I generally just forget about it.

Just wondering what kind of results others on the forum get from it and maybe you'd like to share you opinion with those members who maybe haven't tried one before.

I found it very helpful when I was going to Physiofit.  We always started a session with that to relax the muscles before any work was done.  My husband keeps going on to me about buying one but I don't really know which one would be best for my needs and it seems to have slipped to my "round to it" list  :shake:.

Great machines for certain types of pain in certain areas - I found it wonderful when I first had my lower back pain in my early 30s (pre-fibro days) from a severe fall, as I could put the pads either side and often left it on all day long with great relief.   However, I've found it much harder to use for neck, shoulder or arm pain, as I find now I can't get the pads placed where they're not just making the muscles twitch strongly rather than just pulsate between them.  So it very much depends on where you want to use it, and whether you've patience for trying to place the pads constantly for best effect, but if you can, and if you take it slowly, then I think they're a superb device and I truly wish I could use mine more.

Steve - great idea to offer yours up for a tenner

Guys if anyone is after one take up this offer from Steve (or maybe do a swap for something else) as these machines can set you back a lot more

N.B. Anything sold between members can not be the responsibility of the charity (sorry just needed to add that)

Hi Steve

I would definitely be interested.  If you are willing to sell it to me and are not local, I could cover the cost of postage as well.  I'm in the Ballyclare area.  Send me mail if you are interested and we can sort out the details.  I entirely accept I buy "at my own risk" but if it doesn't work when I get it ..... :furious: there will be nowhere to hide!!!!
